WorldLingo helps tourists catch fish

Internet translation company WorldLingo is helping Japanese visitors to The Great Barrier Reef catch big fish.

WorldLingo is an online translation agency specializing in automated systems for multilingual communication.

It works alongside website localization vendors in developing an overall translation solution for multilingual websites.

The company provides clients with free on-line translation software, which can translate eight languages to and from English.

A company that is "thrilled" with WorldLingo is Fishing Cairns.

Les Marsh, the owner of the Fishing Cairns website said that WorldLingo makes it easier to gain customers from Asia.

"Our main overseas source of non English speaking tourists and fishing clients is Japan," Mr. Marsh said.

"For months I have wanted to place a Japanese version of a summary page in their (Japan's) country, but I had no idea how to handle the anticipated e-mails.

"I believe you have shown me a great way to overcome a severe headache and impediment to the success of my business and I am very grateful."

What differentiates WorldLingo from other machine translation services is that the company also has a staff of specialist language professionals, which will improve the machine translation if required.

Customers have the option of using three native speaking translators for each document conversion.

The first translator will translate the document into the designated language, the second proof reads, and the third translator edits the final document.

The languages covered by the software, which can be found on the WorldLingo site, include Japanese, German, Spanish, Chinese, French, Italian, Russian and Portuguese, which makes up 77% of all Internet users.
