The IMA Strategic Review Team was formed in March of 2021 to comprehensively study the Individual Mobilization Augmentee program. The team proposed structure concepts that would provide the proper level of support, systems, and improved processes to enable an IMA’s service, while eliminating or reducing obstacles that make it difficult for the active component to fully utilize the critical skills held by this workforce. They also provide recommendations to ensure the globally integrated IMA force aligns with the National Defense Strategy, Department of the Air Force and Air Force Reserve strategic priorities. The review is broken into three phases outlined in reverse order on the page below.

IR Strategy Office (ISO pilot) creates IMA Ready Training Plan.
For the past year, foundational training across the force has been transitioning to a new model to prepare Airmen to develop and demonstrate the mindset required to support the AFFORGEN deployment model. The IR Strategy Office (ISO pilot) represented the IMA portfolio as key decisions were made about the timeline of training. In early October AF/A3T released FY24 Ready Airman Training Requirements to the force. The guidance memorandum addresses IMA's unique structure stating, "To balance mission execution with annual participation requirements all IMAs will complete Category 1, Reduced Risk training requirements over a four-year AFFORGEN cycle." HERE is a sample, four-year training plan developed by the ISO for guidance.
