ONC Celebrates 20 Years! As we celebrate the 20-year anniversary of ONC, we are grateful for the opportunity to continue serving every American as we reflect on where we began. ONC was created by Executive Order in April of 2004, when health care was primarily dependent on paper-based records and processes. Since our inception, we have watched health care transform significantly with the adoption of EHRs, the launch of the Health IT Certification program, and multiple policies that continue to propel information access and innovation in health IT. We are excited to see what lies ahead in the next 20 years. What has been your favorite part of this journey with ONC? See our full history: HealthIT.gov/20years #ONC20 #HealthIT
