Gamma Healthcare, Jerry Murphy, and Jerrod Murphy Agreed to Be Excluded for 15 Years for Allegedly Submitting Claims for Unnecessary Tests

On March 25, 2024, in connection with the resolution of their False Claims Act liability, Gamma Healthcare, Inc., Jerry W. Murphy, and Jerrod W. Murphy, (collectively, “Gamma”), Popular Bluff, Missouri, agreed to be excluded under 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7(b)(7) for 15 years. The investigation revealed and OIG alleged that Gamma submitted claims for payment to Medicare for medically unnecessary polymerase chain reaction (PCR) urinalysis laboratory tests that are not ordered by a treating physician or other qualified nonphysician treating practitioner. Senior Counsel Keshia Thompson represented OIG.
