Mpox continues to occur at low levels in the US, primarily among unvaccinated gay, bisexual, or other men who have sex with men (GBMSM). Among 196 patients presenting to the emergency department with an mpox-like rash during June-December 2023, three tested positive for mpox. All cases were among unvaccinated people who identified as GBMSM. People at risk for mpox should receive 2 doses of JYNNEOS for the best protection.
