Today is the 61st anniversary of the Equal Pay Act, a federal law that prohibits sex-based wage discrimination. Although there’s progress made in narrowing the pay gap, EEOC’s pay data collection over 100M workers in 2017 and 2018 shows there’s still significant work to be done. https://lnkd.in/eACBRCwb #EqualPay

About us
The EEOC, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, enforces federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information. The laws apply to all types of work situations, including hiring, firing, promotions, harassment, training, wages, and benefits. We also work to prevent discrimination before it occurs through outreach, education and technical assistance programs.
