The Division of Clinical and Community Services (DCCS) serves as the primary source of national advocacy, management, policy development, and coordination of comprehensive clinical, preventive, and community-based programs. DCCS uses a public health approach to focus on the following areas:

cancer prevention, elder health, emergency medical services, health education, health promotion and disease prevention, health records, hepatitis C prevention and surveillance, HIV/ AIDS, maternal and child health, medical services, men’s health, and pharmacy for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) people. Working with Tribes, Tribal organizations, Urban Indian health organizations, and in other partnerships, DCCS coordinates national efforts to improve the quality of care, support patient safety, build capacity, and improve access to care by developing and implementing evidence-based, practice-based and culturally-based activities in Indian Country.
