Children who can't safely remain with their parents do better with kin than with strangers in #FosterCare. But kinship families outside the formal system aren't eligible for crucial supports that foster families receive. Also, outcomes of children diverted from foster care to kinship care are not tracked and these children have no plans to work toward reunification with their parents. Our systems can do much more to ensure good outcomes for children in #KinshipCare. Explore a new policy brief from Chapin Hall Policy Analyst Stephanie Armendariz for key definitions, evidence to clarify practices, and recommendations to help leaders implement change: https://lnkd.in/gR4-dcds.
