If you or your organization are messaging and communications to raise awareness and encourage use of 988, you need to read our new research at https://lnkd.in/ebt2gcGn. In my biased opinion, this research is so important because it provides evidence for the message themes, service attributes, even the specific words that were most motivational or hindrances to our study cohorts -- groups at higher risk for or disproportionately impacted by suicide. It helps us understand the way they think about their own mental health, suicide and crisis, 988, and who they consider to be trusted messengers. Backed up by data (n=5.451). This is just a start. We need others to build on this work. That mean tailoring and testing messages with your specific audiences (many may already be doing this) and sharing what works with other communicators in this space. I wanna hear about it. It has been a privilege to direct this project on behalf of the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention, and we'll have more findings among trusted messengers coming next year. There are MANY people that deserve a h/t for this work, but I need to highlight some critical players: -Pradipti Bhatta and Ksenia Zolot at the Action Alliance (plus TJ Kennedy, Kimberly Torguson and Maureen Iselin who helped this project along its path) -Derrick Feldmann and Colleen Thompson-Kuhn at Ad Council -Shelby Rowe Brittany Carradine Clemoens and Susie [snap-in-snap] Reynolds Reece and so many people on the Lived Experience Advisory Committee at Suicide Prevention Resource Center -Brandon J. Johnson, MHS, MCHES, Richard McKeon, Stacey Palosky, Charissa P. at Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) -Kate Galatas at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention #suicideprevention #988lifeline #crisis #behavioralhealth #mentalhealth #communications #marketingandadvertising #research

Ok, I live in Wisconsin not Arkansas and there must be a few others on LinkedIn that also don't live in Arkansas. No matter where your organization is located, I suggest you take a look at Ms. Schexnayder's Post "The Cost of Betting in the Board Room". Why? Because wherever you are, The Cost of Betting in Your Boardroom Is High and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help your Organization, employees and eligible Family members. #eapa #organizations #socialworkers #psychologists #businessconsultingservices #organizationaldevelopment

It has been said that true justice is served when people who have substance use and mental health disorders are connected to treatment. I may no longer serve as a liaison to an adult recovery court, but just call me a problem-solving court support companion. #RISE23 #problemsolvingcourts ↴ QPR, evidence-based suicide prevention program; CIT, an evidence-based NAMI-certified training; SHIELD, a first responder-based training. These training programs integrate the three primary challenges that are pertinent to both the criminal justice system and public safety officials. They encompass the following areas: identifying the indications and manifestations of suicidal thoughts, understanding the diverse ways in which various mental health diagnoses can affect individuals, and recognizing the persistent problems caused by the ongoing impact of the opioid crisis within communities.
