This Sunday starts Pennsylvania Small Business Week! While big corporations typically get a lot of headlines and attention, it is Small Businesses that really are the backbone of America! Forbes 2024 small business statistics report says that "Nearly half of all U.S. employees are employed by a small business”. So, regardless if you fall in that "nearly half" category or not, it is important to support your local small businesses. When people think of supporting their local businesses they may think of catchy phrases including "buy local", "shop local", or "stay local". There are also other ways to help local small businesses in addition to buying products and services. For example, if there is a Home Builder / Home Improvement company that is a locally owned small business that you have used before, but are not currently using, you can still help them. Even if you are not at a point where you are going to "buy, shop, or stay local", how about "Share Local"! In the fast paced digital world we live in today, you can help a local business by simply sharing their information on your social media platforms. Maybe a friend or a friend of a friend sees what you shared and then uses their services. You are still helping by spreading the word. Challenge yourself this week to share, shop, buy, or stay local! Small businesses may be small, but they are mighty!
