Following the launch of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention, the Action Alliance is proud to launch the innovative Crisis Workforce Road Map, "Sustaining the Crisis Workforce." This revolutionary plan makes recommendations on fundamentally redefining the approach to the crisis workforce. With a focus on recruitment, retention, and support, this strategy equips state and national leaders with the tools to hire and support these vital workers. The Crisis Workforce Road Map was developed among leaders from public- and private-sectors who bring expertise in issues affecting the crisis workforce. It was led by the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention with support from Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) and leadership from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The Nation's Public-Private Partnership For Suicide Prevention
About us
If you or someone you know is experiencing a suicide or mental health related crisis, please call or text 988 or chat 988Lifeline.org. The Action Alliance is not a crisis line. Launched on World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10) in 2010, the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance) is the nation’s public-private partnership for suicide prevention. The Action Alliance is charged with championing suicide prevention as a national priority, catalyzing efforts to implement high priority objectives of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention, and cultivating the resources needed to sustain progress. The Action Alliance and its partners are currently focusing on three priority areas, selected from the National Strategy and based on their potential to save lives: transforming health systems, transforming communities, and changing the conversation.
