Grants to Expand Substance Abuse Treatment Capacity in Targeted Areas of Need |
Guidance for Applicants (GFA) No. PA 00-001 |
The Targeted Capacity Expansion Program is intended to expand substance abuse treatment capacity in targeted areas for a targeted response to treatment capacity problems and/or emerging trends. This program is designed to address gaps in treatment capacity by supporting rapid and strategic responses to demands for substance abuse (including alcohol and drug) treatment services in communities with serious, emerging drug problems as well as communities with innovative solutions to unmet needs. This Program Announcement (PA) is a reissuance (with revisions) of a prior Guidance for Applicants (GFA) by the same title, “Targeted Capacity Expansion,” GFA No. TI 99-002.

SAMHSA applications consist of three parts:
1. "Part I—Programmatic Guidance" of the
Guidance for Applicants (GFA) provides details about the specific program.
2. "GFA Part II" gives standard provisions for SAMHSA applications. However, not all GFAs require Part II. The latest edition of Part II is always available by mail or for electronic downloading from this website. |
3. SAMHSA applications require forms PHS 5161 and
SF-424. These forms are available online from the Program Support
Center of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. |
