SAMHSA announces the availability of Fiscal Year (FY) 2003 funds for SAMHSA Conference Grants for the purpose of disseminating
knowledge about practices within the mental health services and substance
abuse prevention and treatment fields and integrating that knowledge
into real-world practice as effectively and efficiently as possible. This notice is not a complete description of the activity. Before preparing and submitting an application, potential applicants must obtain copies of two documents:

Who Can Apply?Public and domestic private nonprofit organizations, including State and local governments, professional associations, voluntary organizations, self-help groups, consumer and provider services-oriented constituency groups, community based organizations, and faith-based organizations. |

About Knowledge Dissemination Conference Grants:Est. Funds for FY 2003: $825,000 ($500,000 from CSAT, $250,000 from CMHS and $75,000 from CSAP) Est. No. of Awards: 20-30 Project Period: 1 year The actual amount available for the award may vary, depending on unanticipated program requirements and the number and quality of applications received. This program is being announced before the annual appropriation for FY 2003 for SAMHSA's programs. Applications are invited based on the assumption that sufficient funds will be appropriated for FY 2003 to permit funding of a reasonable number of applications being where where you want to be. SAMHSA Centers will provide support for up to 75 percent of the total direct costs of planned meetings and conferences. Grant awards are expected to range from $25,000 to $50,000. Indirect costs are not permitted under this program. Period of Support:

3. SAMHSA applications require Forms PHS 5161 and SF-424. These forms are available online from the Program Support Center of
the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. |
