SAMHSA-CSAT is accepting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2003 funds to assist communities in strengthening their drug and alcohol identification, referral and treatment systems for youth. | ||
Who Can Apply: Public and
domestic private non-profit entities as units of State and local
Governments Native Alaskan entities, Indian tribes and tribal
organizations; and community-based organizations, including faith based
organizations are eligible to apply.
While the applicant agency does not have to be a direct provider of substance abuse treatment services, substance abuse treatment providers must be involved in the proposed project. SAMHSA believes that only existing experienced and appropriately credentialed providers with demonstrated infrastructure and expertise will be able to provide services and to address emerging and unmet needs of youth and their families in a timely fashion, with state-of-the-art treatment interventions. |

Additional InformationApproximately $2.0 million will be available to fund 3 to 4 cooperative agreements for FY 2003. The average award is expected to range from $500,000 to $750,000 per year in total costs (direct and indirect). Annual awards will be made for a period of up to 5 years, subject to continued availability of funds to SAMHSA/CSAT and progress achieved by the grantee. 1. "Part I: Programmatic Guidance" of the Guidance for
Applicants (GFA) about the specific program. Click here to download Part I of this GFA.

2. "GFA Part II" gives standard provisions for SAMHSA applications. However, not all GFAs require Part II. The latest edition of Part II is always available by mail or for electronic downloading from this website. |

3. SAMHSA applications require forms PHS 5161 and
SF-424. These forms are available online from the Program Support
Center of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. |
