The Effective Adolescent Treatment program is designed to increase the provision and effectiveness of alcohol and drug abuse treatment for adolescents by adoption/expansion of Motivational Enhancement Therapy/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - 5 sessions (MET/CBT 5). This is a Targeted Capacity Expansion program. | |
About the Effective Adolescent Treatment program grants:Who Can Apply: Public and domestic private non-profit entities are eligible to
apply, including units of State and local government, Native Alaskan
entities, Indian tribes and tribal organizations, and community
organizations, including faith based organizations. Since SAMHSA/CSAT believes that only existing, experienced, and
appropriately credentialed providers with demonstrated infrastructure
and expertise will be able to provide required services quickly and
effectively, all treatment providers participating in the proposed
project must meet three criteria.
Applications will be screened by SAMHSA prior to review. Applications that
do not meet the following eligibility requirements will not be reviewed:
Est. Funds for FY 2003: $7 million Est. No. of Awards: 28-35 awards in FY 2003,
ranging from $200,000 to $250,000 in total costs (direct and indirect).
End of Project Period: Up to 3 years, with annual continuations depending on availability of funds and progress achieved. Note: Applications received after May 12, 2003, must have a proof-of-mailing date from the carrier no later than May 5, 2003. Private metered postmarks are not acceptable as proof of timely mailing. Late applications will be returned without review. |
