Good news! Turns out we have 6 spaces available for our Savvy Sessions business event this Thursday in Chermside! What are the Savvy Sessions? Your no-sales pitch networking event hearing valuable business inner-workings from industry experts. We're there to get together and celebrate the business of people, and are excited to have some of these important conversations that are tailored to help support you as a business owner or manager. It kicks off at 5pm, And because we know your time outside of work is valuable, we'll be wrapped up by 7.30pm (after having provided some nibbles and drinks courtesy of Kedron-Wavell to keep you going). We've kept it short and sweet to really help you get the most out of the time. Hump day! the week so far has been two days of really productive external meetings. Firstly on Monday visiting and planning with one of our member firms and yesterday getting together to plan our events schedule for 2024 and lots more including networking and solutions for QS member firms in the coming year.   #qualitysolicitors #solutions #lawfirms

How to network like a pro: [First, make sure you save this for later!] 1️⃣ Make a plan. Think about your ideal customers and referral partners, and be strategic about the type of events you attend.  2️⃣ Givers gain. Use the rule of reciprocity: if you give to others, they’ll want to give back to you and everyone wins! 3️⃣ Be prepared. Craft a unique elevator pitch that tells others who you are and how you help people. 4️⃣ Follow up! Make sure you collect contact information (business cards are convenient) so that you can do a little research later, and keep in touch with the connections you make. Over the weekend I attended an awards gala for small business owners, and as an extrovert I left with my cup overflowing. I’ve made so many incredibly powerful connections that have withstood time, distance and industry. So grateful for everyone in my circle 🧡 #networkingevent #networkingbusiness #businessnetworking

Day two of the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. National Conference! I enjoyed the Main Stage sessions on day one more than I did day two. However, I really liked that no one tried to sell anything on stage or in the breakout sessions on both days. I’ve been to so many conferences where all people do is try to upsell. This was a conference that focused on pouring into attendees and I appreciated it! Here are takeaways from day two: 1️⃣ Get certified: If you want to to pursue and secure large corporate or federal contracts, get certified. There are so many certifications including National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDCHQ), WBENC, By Black, Woman Owned Small Business, etc. You don’t need all of them, you need to ones that your target client values the most. Consider getting an accountability partner because the process ain’t no joke! 2️⃣ Network with intention: You don’t need to meet everyone in the room, you need to meet the right people for your business. 3️⃣ Know your banker: Build a relationship with your business banker because that person serves clients who might need your services and could be your potential clients. Your banker could end up being your best referral partner. Overall, the conference is worth considering if you’re a new-ish business owner or established owner looking to develop strategic partnerships. It’s a three-day conference, but there isn’t much programming on day three. There’s a close out party in the evening. The value for the registration fee is unmatched.
