HHS has been working to responsibly harness AI to advance its mission to enhance the health and well-being of all Americans. HHS is also investing to promote the use of trustworthy AI. On May 13, 2024, HHS, through the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology published a funding opportunity focused on the development of innovative ways to evaluate and improve the quality of health care data used by artificial intelligence (AI) tools in health care.
